Atsu Sekhose A/W’13/14 Look Book – Nagaland redefines Hollywood Glamour

Indian Designer Atsu Sekhose presented a super elegant look book for his Autumn Winter 13/14 Collection. The designer, with his roots in the hilly terrains of Nagaland, aesthetically captured the richness of the textiles and indigenous tribal designs to present a collection that oozed every bit of classic yet contemporary Hollywood glamour. Key pieces of the collection are tribal inspired ball gown, cigarette pants, body-con dresses with distinctive Naga patterns, gold embellished sheer gown and dresses, cape with embroidered hornbill, strapless dresses, pencil skirt and full skirts. Black, white and ethnic red completed the colour story of this classy collection.
If we recall (read here), last year, the designer in association with Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India and FDCI had presented a fabulous Spring/Summer 2013 collection at Wills  Lifestyle India Fashion Week to promote and shows case the designs from North - East India. For that collection, Atsu had captured the intricate work of Naga shawls with a contemporary touch of graphic prints. Work of Naga tribes like Ao, Angami, Sema and Lotha, known for their traditional shawls and distinctive patterns were effortlessly combined with Assamese Eri and Muga silk & tribal hand woven fabrics of Mizoram and Manipur.
Being born and raised in the beautiful state of North - East, I (am little partial here ;) ) always appreciate this wonderful initiative taken by Atsu, to explore and bring out the hidden treasure of design, style, craftsmanship and textile story of the North East region to the mainstream world of high fashion.
