Birthday Girl, Audrey Hepburn – A Style Icon & a Woman of Substance

Today is iconic star Audrey Hepburn’s 84th birthday (4 May 1929 – 20 January 1993). Though Audrey isn’t around to celebrate her birthday, the Academy winning star’s charisma, style, class, grace, humility and philanthropic work is still a great source of inspiration for millions.

When it comes to fashion, the ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ star’s style is known for setting new fashion standard with her timeless class and elegance .Her sartorial influence redefined the world of fashion, be it large sunglasses, clean lines, pearl choker of many strands and the very iconic ‘Little Black Dress’. Audrey’s Little Black Dress, designed by her friend and French designer Hubert de Givenchy, featured in the opening of the 1961 romantic film Breakfast at Tiffany’s, is known as one of the most iconic dresses of the twentieth century and is now an integral part of any woman’s wardrobe.

But above all, what really defined Audrey’s style is her gracefulness that she learnt from the rigors of ballet training and compassionate nature that makes her a woman of substance in true sense. Audrey was a Presidential Medal of Freedom winner for her philanthropic work around the globe in association with UNICEF as a Goodwill Ambassador, inspired by her gruelling World War II childhood in German-occupied Arnhem.

Audrey Hepburn embodies the quintessence of effortless sophistication and humanity – a timeless icon.
Happy Birthday Audrey!!!
